About our Beef Shares

With all of our beef shares, you will only pay for the processed meat you receive. Your initial payment reserves your share. We take payments and deposits several months (3-8) before our cattle are ready to be processed. This allows us to properly manage our cattle herd and pastures for maximum sustainability.

After your beef arrives at our processor, we will invoice you for the balance of your order (if you just paid a deposit) and any shipping charges. Once you have paid the invoice we will ship your order or you can arrange to pick it up. We offer FREE SHIPPING to most of the western United States! Beef shares are the easiest way for us to get you the freshest, grass-fed beef for the lowest possible price.

By committing to purchase a beef share we can better manage our inventory. This means fresher meat for you because we can get it to you days after it’s processed so your meat doesn’t sit in a freezer waiting to be bought.

You also get meat at a lower price because we know what we can sell ahead of time.

Cuts in your beef share will be approximately partitioned as follows:

  • 40% premium ground beef (in 1-pound packages)
  • 30% savory cuts (roasts, ribs, stew meat, etc.)
  • 30% steaks

A single beef can only produce a certain number of each cut. The only way we can guarantee you’ll get a specific cut is if you order a half-beef share. With the half beef, you’ll get all the cuts from one side of one of our cows. You’ll also get the LOWEST POSSIBLE PRICE!

The first customers to order are the first to receive their shares. After you place your order, we’ll contact you directly with more information about when to expect your beef and your preferred delivery method.

Most of our beef shares ship out in October, November, and December. Occasionally, some shares will be ready in August or September.

We ship FREE to Utah, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, and New Mexico. Your order will be shipped frozen in boxes that weigh 50-60 pounds each. Boxes are carefully packed with ice packs and shipped with FedEx Express 2-Day shipping to ensure they arrive frozen to your door.

One-eighth of a beef produces about 40-50 pounds of processed meat.

You will need about 2 cubic feet of freezer space to store this meat. It will fit in the freezer attached to your refrigerator (check the specifications to be sure) but will not leave much room for other items.

One-quarter of a beef produces about 85-100 pounds of processed meat.

You will need about 3-4 cubic feet of freezer space to store this meat. A small chest or upright freezer will have enough capacity for your order (be sure to check the specifications).

One-half of a beef produces about 170-200 pounds of processed meat.

You will need about 6-8 cubic feet of freezer space to store this meat. A medium-sized chest or upright freezer should have enough capacity for your order (be sure the check the specifications).

How it works.

It takes about 18-24 months for grass-fed cattle to reach an optimal harvest weight. A deposit reserves your beef share from our herd.

Each year we inventory the cattle we will have available for harvest and our customers place deposits to reserve a portion of our expected harvest. Throughout the year we maintain the pastures and cattle and keep you in the loop with updates.

Once your reserved share is aging at the processing facility we invoice you for the balance of your order. 

After you pay the invoice we’ll ship your frozen meat (see if you’re in our FREE SHIPPING area) right to your door, or arrange for you to come get it at one of our pick-up locations.

Generally, it will be 3-8 months from when you make your deposit until your beef arrives (depending on availability).

This gives you plenty of time to clean out your freezer (or get a freezer) so you’re ready when your order comes.

You can purchase 1/8, 1/4, or 1/2 of a beef (or one of our other packages). If you want more, you can order multiple options or increase the quantity.


Wait for us to grow your beef.

We’ll grow the beef on the grass of our pastures or source grass-fed beef from producers we know and trust. When your beef is ready, we’ll take it to the processor.


Pay the invoice and have the beef shipped to your door.

When your beef is aging we’ll invoice you (based on the weight of the meat you’ll receive) for the balance of your order. Once the invoice is paid, your beef is shipped directly to your door or you can choose to come get it at one of our pick-up locations (we’ll contact you to explain shipping and delivery options).
